Thank You
Eric Jerome Dickey was a talented and gifted author, his shining light extinguished far too soon. My husband and I had the pleasure of meeting him at a Lansing book signing and I’m so grateful that we had a moment to chat. He encouraged me to continue pursuing my passion to write and reminded me that we never know who or how we are inspiring others through our efforts. I am forever honored that he accepted a copy of Caged Bird and asked me to autograph it for him. More than ever, I now especially treasure having an autographed copy of his novel Tempted by Trouble.
He passed during the time that I was finishing the editing for the Return of My Adonis release and working on the re-launch of my website (January 2021). As I reflected on our brief meeting after hearing of his passing, I realized that I was doing as he asked of me. Despite taking time off, I’ve kept writing and never given up.
While I may never become a household name as he is, I am so proud and blessed that I was able to share a special moment with him author to author. Because of him I realized that my work is important regardless of how many readers I reach. The important factor is that I reach someone. To Eric Jerome Dickey; thank you for giving a moment, thank you for teaching me that important lesson, thank you for your extensive literary contributions, and rest in peace.
