Where did it all start?

Storytime with my mom. The excitement of Scholastic book orders in elementary and middle school. Sitting on a blanket under the apple tree in my parent's backyard with my dog and a book. Passing the time on long trips or in waiting rooms. I've loved to read for as long as I can remember. My desire to write started as a personal challenge that morphed into a passion.

As an adult, I gravitated toward the adventure novels of Clive Cussler. His brilliant ability to describe events and scenery with succinct detail engaged my interest in subjects that I otherwise would never have considered. The relationships of his characters and their emotions were always presented in appropriate sensitivity whether friends, foes, coworkers, or lovers. I can only aspire to write with similar execution as I strive to improve with each plot I create.

Other authors who have piqued my interest across multiple titles are LaVyrle Spencer and Kat Martin. Their plots are deep, meaningful, and provoke thought in addition to the romantic relationships of their main characters.

Despite the differences in genre, all three of these phenomenal writers shaped my perception of how a story should be told. I can only hope that my stories generate similar emotions for my readers. My thanks to each of them and those too numerous to mention for their impact on my work. I hope that I will inspire someone as well.
